Paul
Paul comes from an engineering background and his skill base has been invaluable for the progression of the Old Rectory. He has over saw every building and restoration project we have undertaken and he constantly strives to make the venue better.
Paul is also involved in the daily running of the Rectory, everything from leaf blowing, to clean ups, co-ordinating weddings and events and meeting couples on viewings. He is a man of many talents, and we honestly do not know anyone who can change from work clothes into a suit quicker.
Owner / Leah and Maddan's Mum
Emma
After completing a degree in OT with initial plans to pursue a career in healthcare. Emma had never envisioned her path would lead to the hospitality sector however looking back she cannot imagine doing anything else.
Alongside Paul, she has been hands on and involved in every aspect of the creation of the Old Rectory – from sandblasting the barn, night shifts, decorating, assembling crystals on chandeliers to cutting grass she will try anything.
Emma and Elizabeth (Venue Manager) will often be the first point of contact for couples, guests and businesses and she will coordinate and plan events from initial enquiry, viewings to the big day itself.
Making the Rectory the best it can be is her goal and she is so personally invested in each and every person who uses the facilities here.

Our 7-year-old Irish Wolfhound
Leah
Most of our original couples have got to meet Leah however in later years she has become to enjoy some more quiet time and we now nickname her “granny Leah”. She does still make the odd guest appearance on viewings and wedding mornings.
Leah has been a part of every single aspect of the Rectory and we could not have had a better forewoman to oversee each project.

Our 1-year-old Irish Wolfhound
Maddan
Our BIG lovable male Wolfhound joined our family in 2023. He in some ways resembles a small horse but he is a big gentle giant. He loves food but loves his big sister Leah more (we are not so sure if she feels the same way). We cannot wait to introduce him to all our couples and guests (once his puppy zoomies settle!)
Venue Manager
Elizabeth
Elizabeth joined the Old Rectory in April 2024, settling in like a duck to water. Having 18+ years experience in the hospitality industry she is an incredible asset to our team. Also, she loves dogs as much as us so we knew she was the one from the start.
Elizabeth oversees the daily running of the OR, co-ordinates weddings and events and leaves no stone unturned. Alongside Emma she will be the first contact for couples and take events right through.
She brings the fashion and fun to the office. There are plenty of laughs when she is about.
Head Grounds Keeper / Emma's Dad
Jim
After years of working at the Rectory on evenings, weekends and any holidays he had Jim officially joined us in June 2021. A jack of all trades he has been involved in every building and maintenance aspect at the venue.
With the help of his trusty assistant Luna, Jim keeps the venue in pristine condition and fixes any problems that arise.
He is the backbone and we would be lost without him.
Junior Wedding Co-ordinator
Emma B
Emma joined the Old Rectory when she was 16 and has continued to grow and thrive since. She is currently studying for her Foundation Degree in Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management.
Emma is involved in wedding and event set ups and helps to coordinate events on the day. There is nothing in the venue she can’t do!
Head House-Keeper
Jenny
Jenny joined our squad in 2024, after many years working in hospitality. She looks after all the inside areas of the OR and guides her team of housekeepers.
She has the ultimate mummy vibes and cooks up a storm the morning after each event for our guests staying onsite – just what is needed after a big day’s celebrations.
She is a talented barista and we love our 10AM coffee chats!
Bar Manager
Chris
Chris has extensive bar experience and runs our bar and beverage service. He has been with us since we first opened. He will meet with couples and clients and arrange and co-ordinate their bespoke drinks packages.
He has impeccable detail when it comes to drinks, glassware and customer service. For anyone who has yet to experience his cocktails at the Old Rectory you are in for a treat!
Our History
From Past to Present
What began as Paul and Emma’s dream home has evolved into a beloved venue with a story as captivating as its historic walls.
